Structure
Discussion on how this community could be structured took place. Various ideas were suggested. It was decided to discuss these ideas further on the mailing list.
- Mailing lists
- IRC
- Form a network of nodes - open to official and individual capacities
- Network is an entity by itself, independent - not housed anywhere
- Should incorporate as a society/trust/pvt. ltd etc.... which is independent
- Seperate legal entity - useful for representation, funding
- Tension between rigidity and flexibility, make a society with minimalist structure
- Registration will bring in need for address, elected body etc....
- Hold on the registration agenda, use nodes who are already registered e.g. FSF, Venky etc.... for particular causes and all other nodes rally behind(e.g.. Dr.Nagarjuna might send a memorandum for a particular cause and all the others endorse the same)
- Coalition will be represented by a list of signatories etc....
- Complete some activities and then take the discussion on structure further
- Registration of society is no big deal, doesn't take much time
